Overview.

The story of Ardent Advisory starts in 2022 when Shane Orr and Adi Desai saw a gap in the SME market for quality Accounting Services. There was a need for more pragmatic, service focused providers who were willing to partner and grow with businesses and take on a role of a trusted business advisor.

Whilst Ardent Advisory is in its infancy, both Shane and Adi have over 20 years of industry experience, having built and maintained successful business relationships with over 100’s of SME’s and high net worth individuals.

What sets Ardent Advisory apart is HOW we operate. To maintain these long-standing relationships, we take the time to actively listen to our client needs and work in genuine partnership with clients to ensure quality outcomes. The other major factor that set us apart is our staff. Their contribution is integral to our success, you are only as good as your team and as it has often been said, Teamwork makes the dreamwork!

Ardent Advisory aims to maintain the highest quality of service for our customers at all times and strives to place itself at the forefront of Business Advisory Services within the Accounting industry.

Over their years of experience Adi and Shane have noticed a lack of quality in the bookkeeping records of clients. This record keeping leading to additional time by the accountants in completing financial statements and causing frustrations for both clients and the accountants alike. With this in
mind, they decided to open a bookkeeping arm for Ardent Advisory. This is when Ardent Advisory Bookkeeping was born. This business is led by bookkeeping director Laura Rosenzweig..

Shane Orr

Partner

About Shane

Shane Orr is a Chartered Accountant who began his career in a 2nd tier firm in Melbourne. Upon returning to Perth he joined Pike Skinner who merged with PKF Perth. Skip forward a few years and he has now established Ardent Advisory with Adi Desai, his long term business partner and friend.

Shane’s key focus is in assisting small business in general accounting and tax matters. He has more than 20 years’ experience in providing taxation and business consulting services. To him the relationship is the key. Shane works closely with his clients to support their business and provides advice to help them grow and become more profitable.

Outside of work Shane’s interests are AFL and spending time with his wife and two kids.

Adi Desai

Partner

About Adi

Adi Desai started his career in the family business in India and moved to Melbourne in 2007. He made the move across to Perth in 2013 (one of those things you do for love) and now calls Perth home. He is a CPA (Certified Practicing Accountant), MBA (Masters of Business Administration) MPA (Masters of Professional Accounting) and B.Com (Bachelor of Commerce) graduate. Notably he is a recipient of the Certificate of Merit Award for Taxation – the highest award given to a candidate sitting their CPA exams.

Adi’s experience in Australian taxation spans over 14 years and he specialises in small to medium business. His expertise includes budgeting and cashflow, family business, self-managed superannuation funds, business structuring, taxation planning and business advisory.

Outside of work, one can find Adi playing very poor golf and squash very competitively. Adi loves the outdoors, mountain biking, scuba diving, hiking, hitting the beach and travelling the world with his wife.

Laura Rosenzweig

Bookkeeping Partner

About Laura

Laura has a number of certificates and units in Bookkeeping and Accounting. It’s her belief that there is always something new to learn.

Laura has 15 years of experience working with a vast range of businesses from the ground up (starting in South Australia back in 2008). You name it and she will likely know how it is meant to operate from a bookkeeping perspective.

In 2014 she made the move to Perth but has still kept her client base in South Australia and often returns to meet with them there.

Laura worked with an accounting firm in Fremantle before deciding to start her own company, Creative Ledger and that is how Adi and Shane found her!

Outside of work, Laura is a mother of two beautiful girls and well that’s all she really has time for these days!

Amanda Mitchell

Senior Accountant

About Amanda

Amanda is our senior accountant with over 20 years of experience in Public Practice and over 3 years in Management Accounting. It’s safe to say that she has obtained an absolute wealth of knowledge and service businesses from small to large in a wide range of industries.

Amanda has her CPA and B.Com qualifications and goes way back with Adi and Shane.

Don’t tell anyone but she used to boss Adi around back in the day!

Amanda likes to go for walks with her lovely husband and is devoted to her health and fitness.

Kelly Crawford

Office Manager

About Kelly

Kelly Crawford is a highly experienced administration officer who is currently studying her

Certificate IV in Bookkeeping and Accounting to formalise her qualifications.

Kelly is responsible for general administration duties including handling client queries and requests, providing administrative and management support to the partners and managing our website and social media platforms.

Kelly likes to spend her free time reading books and articles on politics and true crime, she also enjoys listening to music and likes to train, teach and follow kickboxing and boxing.
